ReadThe Opening of Locks & The Supplication for Relief
These supplications therefore carry a particular place within the spiritual legacy of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī and are among the prayers through which the servant turns to Allah Most High, seeking His ease, opening, and relief.
ReadThe Spiritual Ascent
Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) presents here a concise outline of the murīd’s spiritual ascent: how the awrād, when received through the Shaykh and practised with permission, persistence and striving, become a means of purification, spiritual strengthening and gradual nearness to Allah.
ReadOpenings in the Path
Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) teaches that spiritual openings in the path depend upon the murīd truly knowing, loving and honouring his Shaykh, recognising the value of the awrād, studying and emulating the Shaykh’s states, and never allowing spiritual experiences, knowledge or unveilings to produce pride or independence from the transmitted path. The murīd should remain firmly connected to the Shaykh from whom he received the awrād, observe proper adab, and see the Shaykh as the means through which he is connected to the founder of the ṭarīqa and, ultimately, to our Master, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. In this way, love, adab, consistency and faithful following become the means of spiritual arrival.
ReadThe Meaning of Madad
In these Friday lessons, Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) explains the meaning of madad and the importance of understanding what a person actually intends before judging the expression. He clarifies that asking another for permissible help does not conflict with tawḥīd, so long as one knows that Allah alone possesses independent power and that all benefit ultimately comes from Him.
ReadCounsels & Principles
In these counsels, Sayyidī Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) sets out the foundations of the Jaʿfarī path as a life rooted in the Qurʾān, sacred knowledge, taqwā, good character, brotherhood and sincere counsel. He then turns to the practical principles of the ṭarīqa itself: sincerity, permission, adab, faithfulness to the Shaykh, and the proper conduct of the murīd on the path established by Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu).
ReadSpiritual Connection Through Azhab
In this counsel, al-Sayyid al-Shaykh Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ b. ʿAbd al-Ghanī b. Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (ḥafiẓahu Allāh) addresses an important question about the murīd’s relationship with the awrād, ṣalawāt and the Shaykh al-Murabbī. He explains that the Mashāyikh do not close the door upon a murīd who falls short; rather, the murīd strengthens or weakens his own connection through his response to the spiritual discipline he has been given. Regular recitation of the awrād and ṣalawāt is therefore presented as a means of maintaining that living bond, deepening tarbiya, and remaining connected to the methodology of Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu).
ReadWhat is Tarbiya?
Tarbiya is the spiritual upbringing and nurturing of the murīd under the guidance of a qualified Shaykh. It is not limited to dhikr alone, but includes seeking beneficial knowledge, developing Prophetic character, caring for one’s physical and mental wellbeing, serving one’s family and community, and learning to live by the Qurʾān and Sunna in a balanced and practical way. Its aim is to refine the heart, correct one’s conduct and gradually form the seeker into a person of righteousness, service and nearness to Allah Most High.
ReadBenefit for the Masses (Aqida text)
Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) emphasises that every Muslim should possess enough knowledge of theology to know Allah with certainty rather than remain a blind follower in matters of faith. For the murīd, this knowledge protects belief from doubts and the whisperings of Shayṭān, allows dhikr to be made with understanding, and prepares the seeker for true spiritual knowledge of Allah. Following the way of Sayyidī Aḥmad ibn Idrīs (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), which is rooted in the Qurʾān and Sunna, Sayyidī Shaykh Ṣāliḥ (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) wanted the people of the path to be sound monotheists, righteous in action, and firm in belief. For this reason, he composed the concise theological poem Mufīdah al-ʿAwām, encouraging every murīd to study and memorise it as a foundation for sound creed and spiritual progress.
