In Volume 4 of the Friday Lessons, Arabic edition, Shaykh Salih says regarding the statement of Allah, “…do not forget your share of the world…”(Quran 28:77):
The share for the believer of this world is the Quran and whoever takes it has taken a bountiful share. While whoever forgets the Quran and forgets acting by it has missed his share of the world because the world is a field for the next world.
And the next world for the believers is Paradise and Paradise is distributed and divided among the believers based on the extent of their faith in the Prophet ﷺ and the Quran.
“That is the Paradise you are made to inherit because of what you used to do.” (Quran 43:72)
The soul is in the world and it has no share of eating, drinking, sleeping or any other delight of the world. It’s only share is “The Ruh”: “In similar way, We have revealed to you a Ruh from Our command…”(Quran 42:52)
Know this (Ruh) is the Quran. So the soul is life for the body and the Quran is life for the soul. The soul only lives its life which is pleasing to Allah by the Quran.
“…do not forget your share of the world…”
From what is in the world…what is found in it?
“do not forget you share of the worlds” of the Quran. Take time to read the Quran or to listen to the Quran like the people of Egypt in previous times. Every shop would have a reciter in it reading the Quran every morning. The people of Egypt were like this, they would begin their days with the Quran because it is light.
The best thing in the world is the Majestic Quran; the best thing recited, and tongues are moved for in this world is the Majestic Quran; the best thing people use their ears to hear is the Majestic Quran; the best moment in this world is one which the Quran is recited in or listened to. He ﷺ said, “The best worship of my Ummah is recitation of the Quran.” (Tirmidhi)
So take a Mushaf in your home and read from it, even if for a few minutes. When you eat fruit, like an orange for example, you will find a sweet taste, likewise every verse of the Quran you recite and listen to the soul experiences its sweetness.
Every verse is filled with spiritual support, blessings, and secrets from Allah. The Majestic Quran is a healing for what is in the breasts:
“We reveal the Qur’ān, which is cure and mercy for the believers…” (Quran 17:82)
This is for the believers as for the disbelievers, they are not suitable for it. When the disbeliever hears the Quran nothing descends for them at all.
As for the believers, when they hear the Quran while they are millions: mercy, blessings, providential care, manifest and hidden kindness, and Lordly sciences descend on their hearts to the extent of their faith, to the extent of their sincerity, and to the extent of their directing themselves to their Lord. Indeed Allah is near, responsive, hearing and seeing. Pay attention O’ Muslim and wake up from your heedlessness and be mindful of the One Who is not unaware nor absent, Magnified is His Majesty.
