From the counsels of Shaykh Muhammad Salih:
“Your Shaykh is your ship! He is the vessel on which you cross the oceans to reach the Beloved ﷺ. Your Shaykh is the means by which you reach the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who in turn will take you into the presence of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
Your Shaykh is the ship by which you will navigate the oceans of love and knowing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Your efforts and consistency are the winds that blow the sails for you to reach the Beloved ﷺ. You will not drown (be overwhelmed) nor be foresaken so long as you are committed, loyal and patient.
This foundation of this Spiritual Path is loving the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which we achieve by knowing his life and noble qualities and attributes, and reading the Salawat and Madih (odes in praise of the Prophet ﷺ). So board your ship (listen and act upon the good advice of your Shaykh) and navigate to the Beloved ﷺ, for in this is true success, in this world and the Hereafter.”
